THREADNEXA / ARTWORK GUIDES
Choosing a patch style
A starting guide to texture, material and the details to include in your patch brief.
Begin with the finish
Embroidered patches have visible stitch texture. Woven patches use fine interlaced threads for a flatter surface. PVC concepts use molded raised and recessed areas. Leather and bullion styles offer different material identities.
Match the design to the size
A detailed crest and a simple monogram need different space. Provide the finished dimensions so the material and construction can be evaluated against the artwork.
Consider the edge and backing
Border shape and attachment affect how the patch will look and work on the final garment. Include your preferred edge treatment and application method.
Complete the production brief
Quantity, destination and required date all matter. Confirm physical specifications, production availability and delivery before authorizing a patch order.
PUT THE GUIDE INTO PRACTICE
Your next step:
make the brief specific.
Collect the reference
Choose the approved artwork and identify the details that must stay. Add notes where the source is unclear.
Identify the application
Specify the product, material and finished dimensions. Keep separate placements and production methods clearly labeled.
Agree the review stage
Confirm how the design, proof or sample will be checked before the final production step.
